Spend five full days with a local guide exploring the amazing Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary and the Ikara – Flinders Ranges National Park. Highlights include 30 min scenic flight over Wilpena Pound, 4.5 hour Ridge Top Tour at Arkaroola as well as 4wd to ancient sites at Arkaroola like Bollo Bollana Smelta and Springs, and the Pinicles as well as Wilpena Pound, Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges, Arkaroo Rock Aboriginal site, Moralana Valley, historic town of Quorn and Kanyaka Ruins.
Staying 2 nights at Wilpena Pound Resort and 2 nights at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary. Wilpena scenic flight and Arkaroola Ridge Top Tour, accommodation and meals included.

Travel through the Wilochra Plains and learn about the farming history and early train history as they pass by the remains of towns from times gone by.
Visit the outback town of Hawker then onto the Moralana Scenic Drive – one of the most picturesque drives in the region – with an abundance of kangaroos, emus and birdlife – stopping along the way for morning tea under the gum trees.
Next is the stunning landscapes of Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges – amazing ancient geological rock formations and Archeaocyatha Fossil (530 million years old!) and breathtaking views. And if they are lucky you may spot the rare Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby.

During this tour they will complete a journey around the outside of Wilpena Pound – see its beauty from every side and learn about its formation and history.
The day is filled with spotting Australian birds and wildlife in their natural surrounds and being with a local tour guide who will offer a lot of information throughout the day.

This 3 day tour includes the story of the ediacaran fossils and the astonishing geological history of the region with a visit to the Nilpena Ediacara National Park to partake in the Ediacara Experience Tour (2 hours) from by Parks SA.
We also visit other points of geological interest through the Central Flinders (Golden Spike, Archaeocyatha etc) as we journey through the gorgeous gorges in the region and visit magnificent lookouts.
A complimentary scenic flight over Wilpena Pound is included (subject to weather) and of corse there will be our beautiful Australian wildlife to enjoy in their natural habitat – including the shy Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby
