Allen Hosking Memorial Garden

Parks and Gardens

The garden’s namesake, Allen Hosking was a well-known Loxton sportsman, volunteer and community leader. During the 1950s and 1960 he was a key driver in developing and beautifying the town’s facilities, parks and gardens. Hosking is credited as being “responsible for the ‘greening’ of Loxton”, particularly the East Terrace and Bookpurnong Terrace areas. The garden, opposite the Loxton Hotel, features picnic and bench seating and its pathway illuminates at night.
