Historic Ketch Falie

Galleries, Museums and Collections

Historic Ketch Falie is a century-old tall ship built in the Netherlands in 1919. Since 1923, she has been primarily based in Port Adelaide as part of the coastal trading mosquito fleet. In WW2 Falie served as a Examination Ship outside Sydney Harbour. And was involved in the notorious submarine attack in Sydney Harbour. Later during the war she served as a supply ship in the near Pacific.

After retiring from trading in 1982, she became the Flagship for Jubilee SA 150 celebrations. Since 2010, Falie has been a floating museum and an icon for the Port’s maritime past, educating present and future generations about the importance of South Australia’s maritime history.
