Rich in heritage and tradition, Katnook Estate is a James Halliday 5-star awarded winery located in Coonawarra in South Australia, one of Australia’s finest wine regions. Established in 1867 by Scottish immigrant John Riddoch, Katnook Estate is one of the oldest existing wineries in the regions and its vineyards stretch over 155 hectares on the famous terra rossa soil strip that runs through Coonawarra.

Katnook produces a premium, iconic Odyssey Cabernet Sauvignon and Prodigy Shiraz, its flagship Katnook Estate range and the more contemporary Founder’s Block range.

Cellar Door experiences include premium structured tastings, special events, regional festivals and tours. Whilst bookings are highly recommended, walk-ins are also welcome. Enjoy a hosted wine tasting in our Cellar Door or our lounge area with open fire in winter, or explore our site with heritage buildings and a ‘terra rossa pit’, profiling Coonawarra’s famous soil.

Meet the Maker Masterclass

Hosted by Katnook Senior Winemaker Natalie Cleghorn, you’re invited to experience the ultimate tasting experience at Katnook Estate.

Take your seat for an intimate tasting of five super-premium Katnook wines selected by the winemaker from the cellar. Allow the winemaker to talk you through the characteristics of the wines as you sample the range, highlighting the features of each vintage from the vine to wine.

The tasting will include back vintage releases of Katnook’s flagship wines ‘Odyssey’ and ‘Prodigy’, along with other premium cellar exclusives.

Following the session, indulge on a curated platter showcasing the finest Limestone Coast produce and a glass of any one of the super-premium wines you tasted in the lineup.

Strictly limited guests, this is an experience not to be missed. Masterclass is for an hour with the winemaker, then stay on and enjoy the platter and complimentary glass of wine.

This hosted tasting of four of their most premium and limited wines includes the Estate range, sourced exclusively from the estate and the outstanding Icon range, produced in small quantities and from only the very best vintages.
