Greenrise Recreational Reserve

Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery, have a picnic, watch birds, or take a leisurely walk around the reserve.

A walking track begins in town near the G’Day Park to the south of Church Street Penola or alternatively you can drive, park and walk.

Wattle Range Council allows overnight stays by self -contained vehicles free of charge.
Self-contained vehicles are defined as having a holding capacity for fresh, grey and black water as well as storage capacity for garbage waste (e.g. they have an on-board shower, fresh water tank, toilet and a garbage container.)

Also on site is the Greenrise Arboretum Trail, which has 6000 trees, 1200 metres of pathways and showcases 110 species of trees. It links up to the Adam Lindsay Gordon walk which takes you around the dry lake, past the Penola Cemetery and back to the self-contained vehicle site which is available for a 2 night stay for any fully self-contained vehicle.
