This magnificent drive takes you past the Woakwine Range Wind Farm. Drive along Lossie Road from Millicent, then turn left along Canunda Frontage Road. You will see Lake Bonney, South Australia’s largest freshwater lake. The giant turbines, which dominate Woakwine Range, are clean and green. Strong coastal winds from the Southern Ocean make this a perfect site for wind turbines.
The Woakwine Windfarm Tourist Drive enables you to see a wind turbine that is very close to the road. You can drive on to Tantanoola and enjoy a meal or drinks at the Tiger Hotel. The Tantanoola tiger is on show in a glass case at the hotel. While you are at Tantanoola visit the Tantanoola Cave. It is a large cave full of beautiful stalactites and stalagmites and other features. After that you can continue back into Millicent.
