Perlubie Beach Sports Day

Held annually on New Year’s Day, the Perlubie Beach Sports is a one-of-a-kind event that has been bringing locals and visitors together for over a century. This much-loved tradition, first celebrated in 1914, will mark its 112th year in 2026, making it one of the Eyre Peninsula’s most iconic and enduring events.

Each year, crowds flock to Perlubie Beach to take part in or cheer on a varied athletic program, (tide permitting) with the challenging 1600 metre Open Endurance Race, followed by flat races in specified divisions on the sand.
