Bethany Wines has built a reputation as one of Australia’s finest wine producers

Bethany Wines was established in 1982 by fifth generation Bethany grape-growers Geoff and Robert Schrapel.  In 2025 it was purchased by a group of proud South Australian investors with a view to continuing to build the brand and its market.

Situated on the eastern slopes of the Barossa Valley in the village of Bethany, with the winery nestled in the old bluestone quarry, Bethany Wines is a fixture in the local scene.  Producing a range of exceptional and attractively packaged wines sourced from vineyards in the village (still run by Geoff and Robert)

Bethany Wines boasts one of the finest views overlooking stunning sweeping vineyards in the Barossa Valley and beyond. The philosophy remains consistent – to produce exceptional wines that express the microclimate and terroir of Bethany underpinned by the strong sense of tradition.

The winery specialises in ultra-premium Shiraz with their icon wine, the GR Reserve Shiraz. A range of five single vineyard premium wines are produced under their Blue Quarry label. The First Village range encompasses a selection of white and red wines, including fortified.
