wukalina Walk

Adventure and Outdoors Tours

wukalina Walk is a 4-day/3-night journey across our traditional homelands in northeast Lutruwita/Tasmania.

They are Aboriginal owned, operated and guided. As Palawa they have always belonged to this place and the Walk is an opportunity to join in on their homelands and share in our unique First Nations culture.

On wukalina Walk, small groups learn about the ongoing connection we have to Country through cultural activities, story, bushfoods, yarning around the fire, walking together and more.

Accommodations are a coastal standing camp near Wukalina/Mt William and a renovated lightkeepers cottage at Larapuna/Bay of Fires.

wukalina Walk is our invitation for you to takara waranta – walk with us – so we can share with you our stories, culture, food and connection to Country. This 4-day/3-night tour is a journey.

The walk takes place on our traditional homeland within the magnificent landscape of wukalina (Mt William National Park) and larapuna (Bay of Fires) in North East lutruwita (Tasmania, Australia).

Your small group, of up to ten people, will be led on foot by palawa guides to learn about land and sea Country. Guides have lived experience and thousands of generations of Ancestral connection to the knowledge they share and to this place.

For the first two nights, you’ll sleep at the architecturally designed standing camp of krakani lumi in domed-roof huts set within coastal heathland nestled between beach and lagoon. You’ll be cosy and warm under doonas and wallaby-skin cloaks.

The third night is spent in a beautifully restored lighthouse keeper’s cottage on Eddystone Point – a stunning headland at the most northern end of larapuna/Bay of Fires.

wukalina Walk will deepen and expand your understanding of and appreciation for our culture and our strong community here in lutruwita.
