Tassie Tea Party – Exhibition

This Exhibition is on from April 2nd till 30 April 2026 – Step into a world of imaginations, creativity and craft. The Hand Weavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild of Tasmania is proud to present the Tassie Tea Party, an exhibition celebrating the artistry and ingenuity of the members.

Inspired by the whimsical tea party in Alice in Wonderland, this exhibition invites you to experience a unique twist on a traditional tea party. Each display is a functional interpretation of Tasmania’s rich identity, showcasing elements like flora, fauna, mountains, coastline and history – all brought to life through handspun and handmade fibre art.

These imaginative displays are brought to life using traditional and contemporary fibre techniques including spinning, weaving, dyeing and felting. Together they form a tapestry of stories that showcase not only the beauty of Tasmania but also the skill and creativity of the community.
