Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary

Natural Attractions

The Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary was created in 1967 as a project in the restoration and management of Indigenous flora and fauna. It has now evolved to now be a high biodiversity node within the Nangak Tamboree Eco-Corridor.

This regenerated bushland environment is used for conservation, education and research activities that support the learning and teaching objectives of La Trobe University and its surrounding schools. They also provide an array of community events, educational programs and volunteering opportunities for those interested in the conservation of Indigenous flora and fauna at the Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary is open to the public during opening hours and is easily accessible by tram from the city centre of Melbourne. There is also parking available onsite for visitors.
