Lake Nillahcootie is a reservoir located in the northeast of Victoria, 36 kilometres south of Benalla. It was formed by the construction of Nillahcootie Dam on the Broken River. The lake serves multiple purposes including water storage for irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, and recreational activities.

The lake is popular for recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and water skiing. Fishing enthusiasts can find species like Murray cod, golden perch, and trout. Boating facilities include boat ramps for easy access to the water.

Picnic and boating areas are open to the public from 8:00am to sunset daily.

Surrounding the lake are scenic views bordering the edge of the Mount Samaria State Park. Lake Nillahcootie is a beautiful location with plenty to offer.
