Lake Mountain Alpine Resort, Victoria’s Snow Play Destination is the closest alpine resort to Melbourne, only a two-hour drive – featuring 25 kilometres worth of cross-country ski trails (weather determined) and a very popular place for tobogganing and snow play.
In the green season, mountain biking is big. Mountain bikers book on to the Lake Mountain MTB shuttle, transporting riders from Marysville to Lake Mountain so they can set out to conquer the 28 kilometres Cascades MTB trail, suitable for intermediates to advanced riders. If you want a shorter ride, other home trails are available suitable for families or beginners.
Lake Mountain is a lovely place to explore and breath the fresh air, wildflowers start to bloom in November making it a beautiful place to hike to the Summit or ski trails.
