Visitors will discover stories of the notorious Rip which makes this harbour entrance so dangerous, find out about the sea pilots and discover the history of the area’s lighthouses and shipwrecks.
General public tours to the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse are organised by volunteers of Queenscliffe Maritime Museum on Sunday mornings or by appointment. Children must be at least five years old and 95 centimetres tall to tour the lighthouse. Appropriate footwear is required, and safety conditions apply.
Bookings are recommended. Maximum of eight people per tour.

Tours are conducted at Point Lonsdale Lighthouse by the volunteers of Queenscliffe Maritime Museum Inc by arrangement with Ports Victoria
General public tours to the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse are available on Sundays, 9:30am until 12.30pm, last entry.
Tours are thirty-minutes duration and visitors should be fit enough to climb 120 steps.
Children must be at least five years old (95 centimetres tall) to tour the lighthouse. Appropriate footwear required, not suitable for people with heart pacemakers and safety conditions apply.
Bookings are recommended as maximum eight people per tour.
