One Mile Creek Shared Path

National Parks and Reserves

The beautiful Rural City of Wangaratta boasts a vast network of shared walking and cycling paths that meander through the city.

One of the most prominent paths is the One Mile Creek path, which stretches for 6.6 kilometres from Cribbes Road to the northern end of Appin Street, where it seamlessly connects to the Three Mile Creek path. This path winds through the heart of Wangaratta, offering ample opportunities to hop on or off the track at various points.

Along the way, you’ll have access to numerous sports and recreational facilities, as well as playgrounds, seating areas, and barbeque facilities. The path is easily accessible from White, Roy, Rowan, Swan, Phillipson, and Appin Streets.

As you stroll through the vegetated areas along the creek, keep an eye out for the abundant birdlife and the elusive Rakali, a native water rat. For a more immersive experience, head to Wareena wetlands near Wareena Park, a constructed wetland featuring instream and riparian vegetation that helps improve water quality.
