Conference of the Birds Art Walk

Conference of the Birds is a community-based event inspired by the artistic talents and community spirit of the people of Latrobe Valley and South Gippsland. The art-walk explores country, survival and belonging created in collaboration with First Nations peoples, artists and the broader community and celebrates the beautiful bird-life on lands they call home.

The event includes a free art-walk and festival along the Boolarra – Mirboo North Rail Trail to ‘The Meadows’.

The Journey begins by Gathering in Railway Park, then walkers set off on The Quest to the First Nations’ ceremony circle for Welcoming. Afterwards the audience follow the rail trail towards The Meadows.

On their way, walkers pass through seven mysterious Valleys, past art installations and performances before reaching The Meadows for live music, dance, story and a bonfire. Food trucks will sell warm food and drinks at The Meadows. Walkers should rug up well, bring a torch and something to sit on.
