Big Night at Trulli

The Big Night.

Inspired by the cult classic film The Big Night, this signature Trulli event is a celebration of food, family, fire and the traditions that bring people together around the table.

Now in its third edition, The Big Night has become Trulli’s most anticipated annual event and the biggest night of the year. Held on the Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year — it transforms an evening in Meeniyan into a feast of Southern Italian hospitality, open-fire cooking and Gippsland produce.

Guests are welcomed to long communal tables surrounded by crackling fires, local wines and the aromas of food cooking over charcoal, creating an atmosphere that is both intimate and unforgettable. Drawing on their upbringing in Puglia, brothers Francesco and Claudio Laera share the flavours, techniques and values that shaped their childhood, showcasing seasonal Gippsland ingredients through a multi-course feast featuring artisan breads, handmade dishes, traditional recipes and meats cooked over fire.

More than a dinner, The Big Night reflects Trulli’s belief that winter is when the magic truly happens. It is a time to slow down, gather around the fire, share stories, enjoy a glass of local wine or mulled wine, and celebrate the people who grow, raise and produce the food that defines the region.
