Shannon Campground in Shannon National Park is a large campground close to the South Western Highway in the Southern Forests.
Bookings are essential and can be made up to 180 days in advance.
There are forty-one campsites on the site of the former forestry workers’ settlement and twenty-seven campsites in the adjacent pine forest. Campsite surfaces and sizes vary. There are two campsites in the pine forest that have small timber cabins with bunks.
All campsites are unpowered and drinking water is not provided. Water may be available but supply is not guaranteed and treatment is required to make it safe for consumption.
There are toilets and showers and a sheltered food preparation area with gas barbecue, dishwashing sink and food preparation surfaces.
Shannon Horse Campground is close by and perfect place to set up camp with your horse.
Services
Shannon Camp provides single and group sites for tents and vehicle-based camping. Two camp huts are also available on a first come – first served basis.
Barbecues and toilets are provided.
Fires are permitted in fire rings only, except during the prohibited season when no fires are allowed.
Bookings cannot be made.
