Cosy Corner
Things To Do Deepdene, Augusta-Margaret River, Western Australia
The beach at Cosy Corner is generally sheltered and suitable for swimming. The limestone platform on the beach to the south of the parking area contains many blowholes that spurt water up to 6m high on rough days.
Islands offshore are surrounded by stunning reefs and drop-offs that are home to a myriad of colourful marine animals, including the giant blue groper. It is a perfect place for diving if you pick your weather conditions and are prepared to lug heavy scuba equipment down the steep path.
Cosy Corner is popular with both beach and rock fishers but please be mindful of your personal safety. Rugged swells in this area occasionally wash fishers from rocks resulting in fatalities. Always wear a personal flotation device when fishing from rocks and never fish alone.
Cosy Corner is in a special purpose zone of the Ngari Capes Marine Park which allows for shore-based line fishing only. All other fishing is prohibited, including spearfishing, boat fishing, octopus potting or trapping. Be aware of daily bag limits, minimum legal sizes and other regulations.
