Dolphin Discovery Centre Bunbury

Natural Attractions

The Discovery Centre is Australia’s premier wild dolphin experience. It is a not-for-profit organisation and ecotourism venue located at Koombana Bay Bunbury only two hours south of Perth on the way to Busselton and Margaret River.

The Bay is home to over 100 wild bottlenose dolphins who often visit the wild and free Dolphin Interaction Zone at the beach in the knee-to-waist deep water. Most visits occur in the warmer months during the morning.

The Centre runs year-round Dolphin Eco-Cruises (multiple departures daily) into the bay where you will see the dolphins guaranteed in their natural habitat. From November- April the “Swim with the Dolphins” tour takes visitors into the bay for an intimate encounter with our marine friends.

Inside is the Marine Discovery and Interpretive Centre which tells the story of the region and the dolphin ecosystem, with aquariums, four daily feeding sessions, octopus, rescue turtles, sharks, interactive displays, a 360 dolphinarium, Virtual Reality Sets, theatre and more. The Centre provides a unique experience that uses embedded technology along with natural displays to create a memorable experience for visitors that complements the wild dolphin experience of the beach Interaction Zone and Dolphin Tours.

They provide educational activities and field-based learning in marine and environmental studies.

Visitors can enjoy the Cafe and Kiosk as well as Souvenir and Gift Store on site.
