Ochre Paintings – Lorraine Daylight

Lorraine Daylight paints the Country of her family through the rich ochres of the East Kimberley. Guided by senior Warmun artists Jack Britten, Hector Jandany, and her father Gordon Barney, Lorraine continues the celebrated Warmun painting tradition grounded in Ngarranggarni — the Dreaming creation stories of Country.

The exhibition of Lorraine Daylight paintings is presented in association with Warmun Art Centre and all works are open to view at Japingka Gallery.

The gallery will also feature ochre paintings by senior artists of the East Kimberley including Freddie Timms, Queenie McKenzie, Jack Britten, Rover Thomas, Gordon Barney and Hector Jandanay.
