Keith Longhurst Reserve

National Parks and Reserves

The Keith Longhurst Reserve is a 76-hectare bushland reserve with significant scenic and cultural value.

Formerly known as ‘The Basin Reserve’, the area offers a number of walking trails leading down to the Georges River. These trails include ‘The Basin Walking Trail’ and the ‘Old Ford Road Walking Trail’. The ‘Old Ford Trail’ is one of three historical routes dating back to the 1880s which crosses the upper reaches of the Georges River. It has a popular scenic waterhole and  showcases a small waterfall feature.

There are no formal picnic facilities or amenities located at Keith Longhurst Reserve.

The ‘Basin Walking Track’ is a two kilometres return walk.

The ‘Old Ford Road Walking Track’ is a 2.6 kilometre return walk.

Both tracks are a medium grade, have steep sections and parts where the surface is loose, rocky and unsealed.
