Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Gardens

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Just 4km from Young’s town centre, the Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Gardens offer a peaceful retreat at Chinaman’s Dam reserve. This stunning garden is the perfect place for a relaxing morning or afternoon, featuring picnic areas and BBQ facilities for a leisurely day out.

Cross the bridge, passing the elegant marble lion sculptures that mark the entrance, and head towards the viewing platform. Here, take a seat and enjoy panoramic views of the lush gardens and the beautiful Pool of Tranquillity.

The gardens were established in 1992 to recognise the vital contributions of the Chinese community to Young’s settlement in the 1860s, and their enduring impact on Australia’s cultural landscape. Heritage signs throughout the site provide fascinating insights into the gardens’ history and the story of Chinaman’s Dam.

Dogs are welcome but please keep them on leads, as the area is home to abundant birdlife.

A visit to the Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Gardens offers a unique opportunity to enjoy both natural beauty and rich cultural heritage in one beautiful location.
