The Moree Quilt

The Moree Quilt was made by 21 local women who are part of the Moree Quilters Group. The Moree Quilt was presented to the people of Moree by the Moree Quilters on March 2, 2001 to commemorate The Year of the Centenary of the Australian Federation.

The Moree Quilt features: Pioneer Cottage at Mary Brand Park, Wheat Harvesting, Beef, Cattle Sorghum, All Saints Church of England, Moree Plains Gallery, Moree Spa Baths, The Black Soil Plains, Cotton Fields, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Historic Lands Department Building, Pecan Nut Farming, Windmill, Galahs, Moree Memorial Hall, Sunflower Fields, The Moree Club Moree’s First Doctor’s Surgery, A Farmer and His Best Mate, The Wool Industry- Merino Sheep, Wheat Silos, Band Rotunda, Jellicoe Park, Kangaroo, Emu, Children’s Hands Representing The Future, Kookaburra, Native Apricot Tractor, Wetlands, Road Train, The Yurrandali Lizard.

The Moree Quilt can be seen and admired at the Moree Visitor Information Centre. Also available on a postcard!
