Couzens Lookout

National Parks and Reserves

Located within Mary River National Park, about one hour’s drive from Darwin, Couzen’s Lookout offers scenic camping, wildlife watching, fishing, four-wheel driving and photography opportunities.

Set beside the Mary River, this peaceful site is known for its secluded bush camping and memorable sunsets. The lookout provides panoramic views across the surrounding floodplains and wetlands, making it a great spot to take in the vast Top End landscape.

The Mary River is renowned for its large saltwater crocodile population, so always take care near the water and follow Be Crocwise advice when setting up camp. Nearby billabongs and boat ramps make it an ideal location to try your luck fishing, with the chance to enjoy your catch over the campfire.
