Located approximately 2 km from Mataranka in the Katherine region, Bitter Springs is a natural thermal spring set among palms and tropical woodlands in Elsey National Park. These spring-fed pools are a perfect place to relax and unwind after a long drive or a day of exploring.

A 500 m loop walk offers a short and scenic way to enjoy the area on foot.

Bitter Springs is closed during the rainy season (typically November to May) due to flooding. Please check ahead for current access conditions before planning your visit.

Purchase an NT Parks Pass before you arrive. NT residents are exempt.
