Aussie 4WD Tag Along Tours travel throughout the Far North Queensland Region and especially Cape York area frequently so are always up to date with the road conditions to guide you to the best places for your planned trip.
Aussie 4WD Tag Along Tours will guide you to some of our natural wonders and endeavour to share the indigenous culture and share the history and culture of the different nations of the indigenous people of Cape York. The guides have a close relationship with the local people and can relay some of their stories or engage at the cultural centres or with the elders directly.
The tour is at a steady pace and has some flexibility for groups who have special interests in certain places or events. Ensuring sufficient time is available to view those special areas you have travelled so far to see.
Don’t have your own vehicle? Complete Tour Packages are available which include everything you will need: Vehicle, All Camping Gear, Camping Kitchen, 12 V Fridge/freezer, Bedding and Linen.
Ride Along Tours are another option if you prefer not to drive those long dusty roads.
Tour dates run from June to end of October each year to Cape York with up to 10 vehicles per Tour. There is no minimum No of vehicles.
Smaller or/ private tours also available on request.
Services
The tour starts in Cairns with a Welcome to Country, before travelling along the Bloomfield Track to visit the Wujil Wujil Community and stay at the iconic Lions Den on your first night. There is a Welcome Dinner provided for your enjoyment and you camp there the first night to begin the journey.
Then travel through Cooktown to encounter some history at Captain Cook’s Landing, before hitting the dirt into the National Parks and north to Chilli Beach and Leichardt River which is world renowned for its indigenous arts.
At “The Tip” of Australia there is time for a rest or experience more optional tours to Thursday Island, Rikki Island or take a Fishing Charter. A local guide will also show the sites and history unique to north of the Jardine River.
On the journey south, the iconic Fruit Bat Falls and Twin Falls is time for swimming, before heading for Weipa, where a Sunset Cruise will amaze you with local wildlife.
On to Chillagoe to visit the Limestone Caves and historic Smelter Ruins, before your final afternoon at Mareeba for a tropical wine and coffee tour. A farewell dinner the celebrates an epic tour.

This tour is later in the season as we travel Frenchmans Track which crosses The Pascoe River, that we want to cross when it is lowest.
Weipa Eco Tour is also included in the Tour,
But one of the highlights of the Tour is Chillagoe Caves and the Observatory Tour. See the southern skies through a telescope and have the heavens explained by a local enthusiest.
