The Planting Festival

Food and Wine

1 May 2026 to 3 May 2026 Annual Event

The Planting Festival is one of Australia’s premier environmental cultural events, where sustainability meets creativity in the heart of Jinibara Country, Woodford Queensland.

This three-day festival just an hour north of Brisbane, transforms a stunning 500-acre regenerated landscape into a living classroom where families, environmental enthusiasts, and culture seekers discover the joy of caring for the land alongside enjoying nights full of entertainment by the fire.

Visitors experience hands-on environmental workshops, tree plantings, and immersive nature-based education alongside captivating performances and storytelling.

The festival will feature the innovative dirtgirlworld precinct, where children and families engage in interactive environmental adventures with beloved characters like dirtgirl, scrapboy, and Costa the Garden Gnome.

Environmental educators, renowned musicians and artists guide participants through regenerative practices, sustainability and regeneration workshops, and community projects that spark lasting change.

Past attendees have launched their own community gardens, initiated conservation projects, and often return to Woodfofordia to witness the trees planted, sometimes decades earlier.

The festival offers diverse accommodation options from luxury glamping cabins to powered camping sites and traditional camping, all nestled within bushland settings alongside our world famous Lake Gkula.

Visitors leave with more than memories, they carry seeds of change, practical skills, and an unshakeable sense of belonging.
