Big Bend By Night offers visitors the chance to see large numbers of kangaroos and wombats in the wild on unique spotlighting tours at Big Bend on the banks of the Murray River.
You can enjoy a bush tucker breakfast in an idyllic setting in a gazebo on the river bank, or a Dark Sky Nocturnal tour and, if travelling as a group participate in the Sunnydale Shearing Show
There is no walking involved in the nocturnal tours just soft, comfortable padded seats in an open sided cart that is a fun experience on its own, especially on a clear starry night.

This tour is available to houseboat hirers located at the Big Bend River Murray 229 kilometre marker (Swan Reach/Nildottie). You will be offered a glass of Jacobs Creek Chardonnay Pinot Noir or orange juice from the back of our Austin A40 and from there you will enjoy a breakfast of kangaroo sausage, double smoked bacon, scrambled egg with bush tomato seasoning and ground saltbush, tomato with ground black mountain pepper and samphire bush, mushroom with desert flakes, kutjera relish, wattle seed toast with lemon myrtle butter, quandong jam and wild lime marmalade, and wattleseed pancakes with desert passion syrup finished off with a steaming cup of Billy tea.
Operates: Daily from houseboat located at Big Bend River Murray 229 kilometre marker (Swan Reach/Nildottie) by arrangement, 8am to 9am.
