Hindmarsh Valley National Park

National Parks and Reserves

Located approximately 15kms north of the seaside city of Victor Harbor, Hindmarsh Valley National Park spans 423 hectares of native vegetation and diverse plant communities. The park is dedicated to the protection and conservation of significant biodiversity values of the land, including nationally threatened and endemic species and several Fleurieu Peninsula Swamps. The Hindmarsh River and several tributaries run through the park and various springs combined with high rainfall creates opportunities for unique species to flourish. Enjoy bushwalking, picnicking, photography, bird watching, spectacular views and the natural ecosystems. The swamps can be identified by the lime green coral fern Gleichenia microphylla and other water-dependant species. If you sit and listen, you may hear a variety of birds, insects, and other wildlife utilising the swamps as a refuge.
