Lomandra Walking Trail

Parks and Gardens

The Lomandra Walking Trail opened in April 2010 and is a one and a half hour return walk beside the Blyth Golf Course. Hundreds of local provenance plants line the walk.

The Blyth Progress Association has been busy planting a new native garden at the beginning of this walk. With over 500 species and around 1000 plants, many rare in cultivation, a couple of hours is needed for you to get full enjoyment from this latest attraction in Blyth. Most species are different to those at The Terrace Garden at 35 South Terrace, so bring your lunch or take a break at Blyth Cafe (open Mon – Sat) between gardens. Both are at their best May – November.

In winter and spring the walk has wide views across the Blyth Plains to the Clare Hills and Hummocks Ranges. The walk has a gentle gradient and is suitable for all ages.

Visitors can also take in a game of golf starting from the Clubhouse (a winter/spring course only) at very low fees.
