See the permanent exhibitions in the museum: BHP Shipbuilding in Whyalla – BHP started building ships in Whyalla in 1939 until 1978 and the shipyards produced not just the very first warships ever built in South Australia but also some of the largest ships in Southern Hemisphere at that time. World War Two Gallery, Northern Spencer Gulf Gallery with kiosk with all the information about cuttlefish in Whyalla and Singing to the Sharks Aboriginal exhibition.

Try your luck looking for the many additions to the model railway track in the must-see HO Gauge model railway display, (one of the largest tracks in the Southern Hemisphere!)

Climb aboard the HMAS Whyalla and enjoy a family-friendly guided tour of the WWll warship, built in 1941 at the Whyalla Shipyards.
Learn about life onboard the corvette during wartime.
Tours of the ship conducted at 10.30am, 11.30am & 1.30pm daily. Closed-in shoes are required.
Access to the ship is by guided tour only. (Closed Good Friday & Christmas Day).
