Imagine trekking through an ancient Tasmanian rainforest, the crisp mountain air filling your lungs as the sound of rushing water echoes through towering eucalyptus and moss-covered pines. Your boots crunch over frost-kissed leaves, and the mist rises from the Meander River, weaving between icy cascades—each one a perfect frame for your camera.
But the real spectacle? Meander Falls in full winter glory. A 130-meter frozen masterpiece, where water once roared now stands still, encased in shimmering ice. This is a rare and breathtaking moment that only the most adventurous photographers get to capture.
This 10km, 7-hour return hike is not for the faint-hearted. The trail challenges you with snow-covered paths and icy terrain, demanding endurance, experience, and the right gear. But for those who dare—the reward is a once-in-a-lifetime shot.
