Landscapes
Launceston in the north has a nearly English-like countryside surrounding the winding Tamar River and across the rest of the south east spreads rainforests with spectacular gorges and waterfalls. Edging this region are beaches and bays where fertile agricultural lands meet the sea.
In the South the wilderness really takes over with most of the bottom half of the state taken up with national parklands and hidden caverns. The south-east region is beautiful with several offshore islands and the Tasman peninsular providing awe-inspiring scenery.
