Beechworth Historic Park

National Parks and Reserves

Adjoining the popular tourist town of Beechworth, the Beechworth Historic Park has a rich goldmining past easily explored by foot.

Other walking tracks connect Lake Sambell to Lake Kerferd, and a network of tracks link points of interest in the Gorge area including Fiddes Quarry, the precipice and cascades.

Please note: The current condition of the Spring Creek bridge cannot safely support any traffic, including pedestrians, and the current long-term closure is necessary for safety reasons. Pedestrians and cyclists can still walk or ride to Spring Creek Bridge, from the Powder Magazine at the northern end of Gorge Road or from Newtown Falls. Visitors must return the way they came in.

Conditions can change in parks for many reasons. Before your visit, please check the relevant park page on the Parks Victoria website for updated changes of conditions and familiarise yourself with important bushfire safety information to ensure your experience is safe and enjoyable. For information about fires, Fire Danger Ratings and Total Fire Bans visit Emergency Victoria’s website.
