Scarborough Beach Play Trail
Things To Do Scarborough, Stirling, Western Australia
Discover Scarborough Beach in a new way with the Scarborough Beach Play Trail, a free, self-guided digital experience designed to get children moving, observing and engaging with their surroundings.
Starting at the Scarborough Beach Clock Tower, this 1.5 kilometre trail follows the esplanade and is delivered via the Play Trails app. Along the way, eight stops unlock interactive challenges, quizzes and creative prompts that encourage participants to pause, look closer and take part in hands-on activities.
Developed in partnership with Nature Play WA, the trail blends outdoor exploration with storytelling and problem-solving, creating a structured yet flexible experience. It can be completed in around 45 minutes but allows visitors to move at their own pace.
The experience is best suited to children aged 6 to 14 years, though it can be adapted for younger participants with support. Pram-friendly pathways and nearby cafés and amenities make it easy to incorporate into a broader visit to Scarborough.
The Scarborough Beach Play Trail offers a simple way to explore the precinct while adding purpose and engagement to a walk along the coast. To begin, download the Play Trails app and select the Scarborough Beach Play Trail before heading to the starting point.
