Follow the blue arrows for The River Ramble (1.5 km, 30–50 minutes) and trace Guildford’s historic portside past.
This trail highlights Guildford’s deep connection to the Swan River—the lifeblood of the early colony.
Along the Terrace Road business precinct, you’ll pass the iconic Rose and Crown Hotel and Padbury’s Store. Continue on to Barker and Gull’s Warehouse, a lasting reminder of Guildford’s heyday as a bustling port and market town serving the Swan River Colony.
A highlight of the walk is Moulton’s Landing, nestled along the riverbank. Here, interpretive signage shares the poignant story of Abraham Moulton and reveals how this vital waterway shaped transport and settlement in the region.
The trail concludes with a peaceful stroll past charming heritage homes, finishing at Stirling Square—the perfect place to rest and reflect on Guildford’s rich, river-bound history.
